I had a great time presenting at the Poetry Round Up at this year's Texas Librarian Association conference in Austin, TX.
Here I am doing my part to help keep Austin weird!
Here I am flapping my gums at the PBS Young Writers Contest awards ceremony on April 12th.
I really need to up my game, because there's some super talented authors coming up from the elementary schools!
And I started the month with a fun filled reading to help Clara Byrd Baker Elementary kick off National Poetry month.
I premiered a new poem for my friends at CBB, but at the time I didn't have a good image to go with it. But thanks to the miracle of the internet, I found the perfect picture to go with...
Lisa Deetza Eats A Pizza
Lisa Deetza eats a pizza.
It’s her favorite kind of treat-za.
But her manners aren’t so neat-za,
When she starts to eat her pizza.
She spills sauce upon her feet-za,
As the cheese sticks to her seat-za!
She flings mushrooms in the street-za,
Then the onions and the meat-za!
And for her, that’s quite a feat-za,
For her size, it can’t be beat-za.
Since she’s really so petite-za --
She’s our little parakeet-za!
